Honda Stunner CBF

Honda launched the Stunner way back in 2008 and the bike has since then become one of the company’s most popular launches in the Indian market. The Honda Stunner is today available at a price of Rs. 61,233 on-road in Delhi. Some of the most interesting features of the Honda Stunner include an integrated front body cowl, a maintenance free battery, a viscous air filter, a 11 bhp high performance engine with 5 speed transmission and a sporty half chain case.

Honda Stunner Official Mileage Claim

According to an article on ZigWheels; a popular Indian automobile website, the Honda Stunner is the second most fuel efficient bike in the 125cc segment. The official mileage claimed by Honda is 68.3 kmpl. Only Hero Glamour, with 69 kmpl, has a higher official fuel economy.

Customer Reviews For Honda Stunner Mileage

Let’s start off with the review from BikeAdvice – the website has a highly positive review of the bike and claims the mileage to be around 66 kmpl. However, comments posted on the review by people who have already tested the bike indicates a more realistic mileage of anything above 60+ km/l. This is also confirmed by posts on IndiaGarage.

On MouthShut, there are over 117 reviews for the Honda Stunner. Overall, these users have given the Stunner an impressive 4 stars out of 5 for fuel consumption (mileage). A majority of the users have reported a mileage of over 55 kmpl. While one user has noted that their mileage spiked up to 62 kmpl on city roads after first service, another customer has reported that their mileage dropped to under 50 after servicing. Overall, despite minor complaints, almost all users seem to be happy with the bike’s mileage.

AutomobileUpdates, another review site, reports a city mileage of 52 kmpl while the same on highways is 66 kmpl. Motorbeam, usually spot on with its mileage updates, does not have a great review of the fuel consumption simply noting a mileage close to 65 kmpl. However Arun Garg from Arunii.com says he only sees a mileage of around 40-45 kmpl in city conditions; nothing spectacular.

So there you go. If you are looking to purchase a Honda CBF Stunner, you do not have much to worry from a mileage perspective.  A lot of people looking to purchase a bike like the Stunner for its looks; which is definitely excellent. Other features are also extremely brag-worthy. So if you have the money, go for it – it is definitely worth the money and will also save you bucks with its pretty generous mileage. Here is a summary of mileages provided by various reviews.

My stunner gives me a very bad mileage of 32 overall.i have service the bike at regular intervals and have notice that the mileage of the bike reduced after every servicing.

hero ignitor, honda stunner, or Pulsar 135 LS, please help me to make my decision.
my daily running is around 30 to 40 km in city…

    1. mileage
    2. low maintenance(long life)
    3. price
    4. comfort
    5. look

    • Paul chalil 1 November 2013 at 7:53 am Permalink

Go for Ignitor or even Pulsar 135 cc.. I would not recommend Stunner since i am an owner of CBF Stunner that I purchased just 7 – 8 months back. But it was the worst I could have for fuel efficiency. It’s just 35 to 40 kmpl. It’s better to go for Hunk or Pulsar. If you prefer the same CC displacement, you could look at any other bike.

Honda cbf stunner is a very very very good bike… In 125 cc segment it’s the best.. I got this bike in feb, 2012 and till then i have invested 0 for its maintenance.. Mileage is 60 (in economy speed).. No vibration problem upto 80km/hr speed.. Top speed is 110km/hr.. No starting problem though it does not have kicker..So in my opinion go for it. You will never regret it..

Best of luck.. Happy & safe riding…:D

    Hi friends,
I’m also planning to buy a 125cc bike with good looks. From what I have read from various reviews, CBF Stunner seems to be the best option even though some users have reported low mileage on this.

  14. Quamer 29 October 2013 at 2:48 pm Permalink

In 125cc range, it’s good! Average +50 kmpl (as it depends on traffic conditions). Nice grip on road, I own it from Aug 2012 and have driven nearly 6000 kms.

  15. Bhanu Prakash 4 November 2013 at 5:48 am Permalink

I bought Honda Stunner CBF in the month of March-2013. From then I am getting only a mileage of 35-40. Even after completing all the regular servicings and now after it had completed 6000kms. Guys please suggest how to increase the mileage of my bike. I drive at 40-60 kmph on normal roads. On long rides, I reach 100 kmph.

    • Miesh 19 November 2013 at 12:04 pm Permalink

Regularly change the engine oil upto 2000 km. I have Stunner bike for the past 1.5 years. Ask your bike service dealer to regulate your bike average setting to 2.5 to 3 so that your bike average will improve automatically within a week. Your bike mileage will improve to around 50 kmpl. My bike was suffering from a similar problem but after doing this it’s giving a mileage of around 50 kmpl in city.

        Thank you Bro…!!!!

    • Tushar 8 June 2014 at 4:53 pm Permalink

hey , you should maintain ur speed to economy which is 30 to 45 then the mileage increases above 50 or mor ……

  16. Bhanu Prakash 17 January 2014 at 4:38 am Permalink

I found myself that the problem is with choke wire which was too tight to lift up and was getting operated in normal drives without lifting up. So I replaced with new one(which was found loose to operate) and changed engine oil to Shell Advanced oil.
When I drive at 40-50 speed I get mileage of 55+(that too in Bangalore city) and when I drive at higher speeds it gives mileage of 45. :)

I bought stunner in November 2010, this bike gave mileage 55 to 60 kmpl. I bought another Honda stunner bike in march 2014. new bike gave before first service 28 to 34 kmpl. It was very bad mileage for me, I told to Honda service station’s service man regarding mileage. He said, after this (first) service, mileage will improve. But I have done 3 services of this bike, mileage is not improved still, it is giving me 38 to 42 kmpl now. I tell to to Honda service provider very service while serving. He always says, this time, you will get improvement in mileage. But not. Vibration is so high, bike does not crossed 90 kmpl. Very poor performance this bike. Plz don’t purchase this bike, go for another one.

I have purchased Honda stunner in 2012 model run only 14000 kms. I serviced it it honda authorized service centre. but still its mileage getting down after every service. Now its mileage is 30km/litre which is not expected from 125cc bike and have run only 14000 kms. I have changed its air filter and spark plugs. but still didn’t get any benefit.

So not recommended to buy this bike coz of mileage.

I purchased Honda Shine 125cc bike on June 2015 and did not have any of the problems till date.
I fill fuel in shell petrol bunks(HP on an emergency case) and it gives me 64+ mileage. I have taken it for long drives 250 Kms to and fro @60-75 Kmph and did not had any vibration issues.
I selected this bike as I am a normal weekend user and will be roaming inside the city and a weekend on highways.
Ratherless I have had Honda Unicorn before and touching 125 was easier which I can’t try it in Shine. Max speed torqued is 90 Kmph on highways.

Am completely satisfied and am a big fan of Honda!!
