Bajaj Discover 125T

Bajaj Discover 125 T

Bajaj has been focusing on reaching out to more customers with their Discover brand and the new 125T is a step in this direction. The new Bajaj Discover 125T was launched just last month and is a lower spec variant of the popular Discover 125ST. The biggest difference between the 125 ST and 125 T is the mono-suspension on the older bike which has been replaced with a simpler Nitrox twin shockers at the rear. So technically, the difference with respect to things such as the mileage should not be very different on the two bikes. You can reach a top speed of up to 105 kmph which is not much but very decent on a bike of this category. The bike has a 10 liter fuel tank with a 3.5 liter reserve. Manufacturer Mileage Claim

In our discussion on the Discover 125 ST, we had noted the manufacturer’s claim on FE to be betwen 65-70 kmpl under standard test conditions. According to Bajaj, the new Discover 125 T is built for great power without compromise on mileage. According to tests done in standard conditions, the manufacturer claim you should be able to see 77.1 kmpl. That’s quite a benchmark to beat if it were true. We will need to look at customer test rides and feedback to see if the fuel consumption in real world conditions match up to this.

Customer Feedback

Let us start with the review on IamaBiker. The author does not offer any independent review of the bike other than providing a gist of the basic features. So it is difficult to ascertain if he has tested it himself. As far as fuel efficiency goes, he claims 60 kmpl could be the norm on the city roads.

According to BikeDekho, mileage is an area where the bike performs best. According to their review, the Discover 125 T should be able to deliver 50 kmpl on city roads that can go as high as 60 kmpl on the highways.

We do not have reviews from too many other sources. We will revisit this page when the bike is a few months older and we have feedback from many more people. Till then, keep posting your feedback and personal reviews in the comments section below.

  1. Discover 100 t or Discover 125 t, please help me to make my
    decision.
my daily running is around 30 to 40 km in city….

    1. Nitin go for bajaj 100t as your daily riding (km) is not much. With 100t you will save good money in fuel and this bike is faster than most 100cc bikes that are available at present. HAPPY BIKING.

  2. which is the good bike,i need mileage as well comfort for city ride. i ride 30 to 40 km daily

I am confused between Discover 125ST, Pulsur 135 and Glamour PGM Fi

    1. Chandrashekara you should go with Glamour PGMFI because this bike has a steady mileage and very low maintenance. The mileage of Discover & Pulsur is around 45 to 50

  3. Discover 100 t or Discover 125 t, please help me to make my

  4. Hi Everyone,

I have owned Discover 125st for 9 month. The bike is quite comfortable for city riding. You can ride it 50/60 km/day very easily. The power is good but it does not give the fill of 12.8 ps. The mileage of 47-48 kmpl is satisfactory. Handling of the bike is awesome. The only disappointing thing is the vibration generated by its engine. It looks like R&D needs to workout for refinement of engine. Overall the bike is good for city riders.

  6. Hi All,

I am looking for a Bajaj Discover bike for daily use (around 70-80 Kms daily). So which one would be best suited for me? Discover 100T, 125T or 125ST? I just need good mileage and a maximum speed of 80-90 Km/hr
    Thanks.

  7. Do IT YOUR OWN…… Mileage TEST

Many bike users get different mileages from same bike. I have TVS Victor Gl whose petrol tank has 09 litre petrol storage capacity and 2 litres of reserve, that means 11 litre full tank. So how should I get perfect numeric figures of mileage in kms. I use this phenomenon to get actual average of any bike. You should know the total tank storage capacity and reserve capacity.

As I already mentioned- 11 litre of tank including 2 litre of reserve.

    Now follow these steps—

    1. Pour 2.5 litre of petrol in tank (for my Victor Gl).
    2. Place the petrol tap in ON mode and ride it.
    3. Now 0.5 litre of petrol finishes bike comes under RESERVE mode, here you note down the reading ODOMETER and ride it (a).
    4. Refill exact 1 litre of petrol from nearest petrol pump and place the petrol tap in ON mode and again ride it.
    5. when again bike comes in RESERVE note down the ODOMETER reading (b).
    6. Add (a+b) which is your actual numerics of mileage in city or highway mode.

I get 66 Kmpl in city and 72.5 in highway of my Victor Gl..

  8. I own a Bajaj 125T motorcycle. Recently I travelled to Goa from Mandya.650 k.m.in 16 hours. (350k.m.+300k.m.).total entourage was 1450 k.m.in 4 days.till my return, I haven’t met any problem. It is advised to change engine oil for 3000-3500k.m frequence. Regardless of any engine oil in use.
