Honda first launched the Dio way back in 1988 in Japan. In India though, the scooter first started to be manufactured since 1996. The latest 110cc was showcased earlier this year during the Auto Expo in Delhi. The latest variant of the Honda Dio is available at a price of Rs. 47,928 (on-road, Delhi).
Official Honda Dio 110cc Mileage
Dio’s newest variant comes with a slightly larger engine (110cc vs. 102cc in the older variant). But this is not the only change. Honda claims the new 110cc Dio has a fuel efficiency which is 15% more than the older model. The scooter is expected to offer a mileage of 55 kilometers per liter of petrol.
Mileage Reviews From Honda Dio 110cc Testers
Let’s start with what the reviewers from ZigWheels observed. In their test drive, they report a not-too-bad mileage of 40-43 kmpl on city roads. However, do note that the test drive was done by a hefty 100kg male. So if you are a regular sized female, expect to see more mileage; at least going by what ZigWheels observed.
Top Gear’s review of the scooter aligns pretty much with what ZigWheels has posted. Their test drive notes a city road mileage of around 48.5 km/l. But if you thought that was good enough, brace yourself for something better as according to a reviewer on BikeDekho, the scooter consistently provides a mileage of over 50 kmpl.
On MouthShut, few reviews are from customers who have purchased the latest variant of Honda Dio. Of them, only one talks specifically about the mileage and this user has reported that they do not see anything more than 30-35 kmpl. That’s a pretty low mileage for a 110cc light build scooter. But to be fair, this is only one review and do not base your decision on just one review.
Looking into what other people who have tested the scooter have noted, it looks like the most realistic mileage that you may expect is indeed in the 40-43 kmpl range. According to a review on MaxAbout, the mileage they derived was exactly that. Checking out classifieds websites like Olx and Quikr, the mileage appears to be around 40-45 kmpl again.
Is Honda Dio 110cc mileage good enough?
It definitely is, but I don’t think it’s better than TVS Wego from a mileage perspective. TVS Wego, if you remember, had customers consistently reporting a mileage of over 50 kmpl although there were quite a few reports of around 45kmpl. But considering that the average tended to be closer to 50 kmpl, I would go for a Wego than Honda Dio 110cc considering the latter is surely going to give me a lesser mileage.

I have been using a Honda DIO 2011 model. i had bought this with a hope and the same was a gift to my wife.since she never motivated herself to learn riding the bike, i started to use the DIO to my office though i had a Pulsar 150. The only reason as to why changed the bike is because of the city ride. Gear less is a much better option riding in cities… soon after the 3rd service i realized the kind of service silicon Honda has and very poor mileage.. i complained for atleast for 4 time and the result was the same .. these silicon guys have bad mechanics who are not competent enough to fix issues raised by the customer.. My friends activa is 6+ yrs old and the engine has a re-bore which was dun by a 25 year old mechanic and he realy bought back life to the bike .. Smooth and a mileage of 40Plus..
So my sincere advise to you guys is please donot buy any HONDA scootec rather i would advice you to go for a TVS… they are any time better than HONDA in terms of service and Product…..
Hi friends, my name is Ganesh. I am using Honda Activa for the last 10 years but there is no need for maintenance. About mileage it gives me a mileage of 40-45 kmpl. This mileage is more in city.
