TVS Victor GLX 125

TVS Victor GLX 125cc Mileage

TVS Victor has been around in the market for more than eight years now. In fact, TVS had announced earlier this year that they plan to relaunch Victor around December. Despite being around for so long, TVS Victor has been one of the companies’ better selling models – it comes with a 4 stroke 125cc engine that provides a power of 10 BHP (7.36 kw) and torque of 9.8 Nm. These specs make us realize why this bike desperately needs a relaunch. The rivals in the space offer much better power at the same engine capacity. Yamaha Gladiator has a power of 8 kw while the Honda Stunner CBF has it much better at 11 BHP.

TVS Victor Mileage

TVS is pretty trusted among the middle class for offering bikes with consistently good fuel efficiency. With the TVS Victor, the company claims a mileage of 85 kmpl under standard test conditions. That’s a pretty tall claim considering the claimed mileage of a lot of the other bikes in the segment do not even come close. For instance, Yamaha Gladiator claims 67 kmpl, Honda Stunner is at 68.3 kmpl while Bajaj claims 65-70 kmpl on Discover 125ST and Hero claims 60 kmpl on the Ignitor.

Actual Mileage on TVS Victor GLX 125

If you are a regular reader here, you may have realized by now that the actual mileage extracted on motorbikes under regular city driving conditions are nowhere close to what is claimed under standard test conditions. The TVS Victor is no better. According to reviews from various customers over the  years on MouthShut.com, the TVS Victor GLX 125CC appears to offer a mileage of anywhere between 52 – 60 kmpl under city conditions. Most of the customers aren’t complaining though and they have all together rated the bike 4/5 on fuel consumption.

The scene is not very different on Olx.in. Sellers on the portal report a mileage of somewhere between 45 – 55 kmpl on their TVS Victor. One other customer reports  65 kmpl. But do take these mileages with a grain of salt considering that a lot of sellers do tend to overstate the mileage in order to gain a better deal on the sale.

Reviews and test drives from bloggers all seem to agree on the actual mileage being around the 50 kmpl mark. In their review, Vicky.in reports an “overall mileage” (city+highways) of around 55 kmpl on the Victor. Another site, IndiaBike report a mileage of 54.9 kmpl during their test drive.

Considering that the TVS Victor has been around for so long and not too many blogs were around back when it launched, you do not have as many test drives and reviews for this bike as you would for the newer launches. Nevertheless, reading the reviews from long time customers, one does get the feeling that this is a value for money bike. There are hardly any complaints from customers complaining of poor mileage. The lowest I have noticed is just around 45 kmpl which is still a decent fuel efficiency. Overall, if you are buying a TVS Victor GLX 125 today, you can expect a mileage of around 50 kmpl which is still best in the class. Still on the fence? My recommendation would be to go for it – although waiting for the relaunched Victor wouldn’t hurt either.
