The Scooty Streak is powered by a 4 stroke single cylinder engine with a capacity of 87.8cc which can deliver up to 5 BHP power and 5.8 Nm torque. If you have been visiting this blog for the bikes, you would realize that the power delivered here is pretty low compared to what you see on the bikes – but then this is not a power bike but an easy to ride scooter targeting young women. The TVS Scooty Streak is available at a price of Rs. 42,300 ex-showroom Delhi.

Official TVS Scooty Streak Mileage

Given that TVS is targeting the young college going women with this scooter, the expectations around mileage are going to be high. At least from the ARAI testing conditions, the Scooty Streak does not disappoint. According to company officials, the Streak clocks 68 kilometers per litre of petrol under these standard conditions.

TVS Scooty Streak Customer Reviews

City road conditions have known to vastly affect the real-world mileage of motor vehicles. PricesofIndia reports that the mileage they draw from their test of the Scooty Streak is just 45 kmpl. Thankfully, IndiaBike.com differs in their opinion. In their test drive, the Scooty Streak delivered 59.6 kmpl on city roads and a top notch 77 kmpl on the highways delivering an overall mileage of 63.9 kmpl. WheelMela has a report that would place the mileage somewhere between the other two reviews. They report a 51 kmpl mileage on city roads.

Looking at the reviews from the bigger websites though could be disappointing. IndiaMart reports a mileage of 40 kmpl on the Scooty Streak while MaxAbout concurs with reports stating 40 kmpl in city roads and 62 kmpl on highways.

Given the fact that the mileage reviews differ so much between 40 kmpl and 59.6 kmpl even on city roads, it makes sense to see what posters on review sites like MouthShut got to say. Unfortunately, the reviews haven’t been great. One customer reports that her Streak only delivers between 35-40 kmpl on village roads. Another customer though reports 40-50 kmpl on city roads while the third is more specific and reports a 42-44 kmpl mileage. Ultimately they all point to a mileage of less than 50 kmpl. Even a classifieds site like Olx.in where customers normally put up a better mileage for their vehicles has an average mileage report of only between 45-50 kmpl.

So looking for a final say? The TVS Scooty Streak is amazing for many reasons. But the mileage aint one of them. If fuel economy is extremely important to you, check out alternatives because this is not the best of the lot. Here’s a snapshot of fuel consumption as reported by various sources.

  1. What a lovely scooter for working women like me! The shock absorbers are marvellous, assuring smoothest ride on rough roads, excellent manoeuverability in traffic. Kick start sometimes irititates, otherwise probably best scooter for girls and women clad in sari.

    1. hai madam, i am offering 2012 model sctooy streak 4500km done, expected price 35000/- green and black shade, if u r interested call on 7801018101.

  2. First if you mainly do in-town driving, inflate tires to 40 PSI. Do not fill them more than that. Then consider getting a cold air intake. Next consider a catback exhaust system (if you don’t mind a rumble kind of exhaust) you may want to consider a 40 series flowmaster exhaust. Next if you can afford it get a computer tuner. Get some good spark plugs and wires. Make sure you use 5W30 Synthetic Oil. If you can change your differential and transmission fluids all to Synthetic fluids. All those things will make a difference. Good Luck!
