Honda Aviator Mileage

Honda India launched its popular Aviator range of scooters way back in 2009. Last year, the company launched an upgraded version of the vehicle. The scooter comes with a 109cc 4 stroke engine delivering  8 BHP power at 8000 rpm and a 6 liter fuel tank. Aviator standard is now available at an on-road price of Rs. 51,650 while Aviator Deluxe is available for Rs. 57,291 – both prices calculated for the Delhi market.

Honda Aviator Mileage

There is no advertised mileage for Honda Aviator put up on the Honda website. However, from what I could gather through research online, the Deluxe variant of Honda Aviator is expected to offer a decent 52 kmpl mileage under standard conditions. When I say standard conditions, it means conditions that are pretty conducive for very low fuel consumption, which means under regular city conditions, it could be difficult to reach this mileage

Honda Aviator Fuel Efficiency Customer Feedback

According to a little known website called ScootyPrice, Aviator offers a mileage of between 45-48 kilometers per liter. Quite a few “customers” to the website’s post have observed a mileage of between 50-55 kmpl. That is not to say everyone’s happy though. A lot more customers also complain of mileage as low as 35 kmpl. In fact, a few customers have even reported the low mileage on ConsumerComplaints.in – a popular consumer complaints forum.

Like in the case of Kinetic Flyte, Honda Aviator too has a pretty ordinary 3/5 rating with respect to fuel consumption on the user reviews website, MouthShut. This rating comes from over 82 customer reviews. According to one user, the mileage is as good as 46 kmpl, while another reports 30 kmpl. Apparently, the mileage falls from 45 kmpl to 30 kmpl after the first service according to a review from a third customer.

On BikeAdvice, a commenter who claims to have tested the scooter exhaustively claims that the Honda Aviator offers a mileage of 30-40 kmpl in city conditions while that in highways goes up as high as 45-50 kmpl.

Should You Buy Aviator?

A summary of the mileage reviews for the Aviator is showcased at the bottom of this paragraph. If you compare this with the mileages offered by the Activa (54 kmpl), Honda Dio (40-43) or TVS Wego (40-50), you will see that the mileage you can realistically expect is not much. Of course this seems to be a better bet than Kinetic Flyte, but that’s not saying much. This doesn’t seem to be a bad choice, but just that there are better products than this in the market. You can probably go for them instead.

  1. I purchased a scooter Aviator. It gives a mileage of 30-35 kmpl. But you claim 60 kmpl. That’s cheating with your customer.

    1. Honda Aviator is the worst scooter ever. Honda company has been cheating us, don’t go for it. I will suggest Hero Maestro.
