Bajaj Discover 100T

Bajaj Discover 100T

One of the latest additions to the Discover stable is the new Bajaj Discover 100T which is one of the most stylish and better featured bikes in the 100cc category. Looking deeper into the technical specifications, we see that the Discover 100T has a 102cc 4 valve DTS-i engine that can crank up a power of up to 10.2 PS and a torque of 9.2 Nm at 6500 rpm. The bike is slightly longer than the other bikes we have seen in recent past with the length measuring around 2.038 meters and width around 0.714m. The bike is 1.07 meters tall.

Bajaj Discover 100T

The Discover 100T has a kerb weight of 121 kg and has a fuel tank that can hold 10 liters when full with 3.5 liters on reserve. You can buy a 100T at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 50,500 at Delhi.

Official Mileage Claim

You may have noticed that the kerb weight of the Discover 100T is much higher than other bikes in the 100cc segment. For example, the Hero Splendor Plus weighs 109kg while TVS Sport has a dry mass of just 95 kg. Technically, under such conditions, the mileage of the bike is expected to suffer because the engine now has to burn more fuel in order to pull the higher mass. However, if you go by the official metrics, the fuel efficiency doesn’t seem to have suffered much. According to Bajaj, the Discover 100T can deliver 87 kilometers for every liter of petrol under standard test conditions.

Test Ride & Customer Feedback

As always, let us start with MaxAbout. Considering that the bike is one of the new launches, there is still no official review from the website at the time of writing. Also, I am not sure if the mileage they have reported on the site is from official sources or what they have noted from their tests. In any case, according to MaxAbout, the Discover 100T will give you 65kmpl on city roads and 87kmpl on the highways.

MotorBeam has a solid test review of the new bike. From their test ride, the reviewer notes that the features on 100T are identical to what is available on the Discover 125ST. Along with the half chain case, Nitrox suspension and the conventional long mud guard makes the 100T feel like a larger motorcycle than it actually is. The website reports a fuel consumption of 70 kmpl which is pretty average for a bike in this segment.

xBHP in their review note that the bike is extremely durable and is built with the necessary “majbooti” that offers a tempting alternative to the “plain jane” offerings from Honda and Hero. While there is no scientific test of the mileage, the reviewers report seeing around 65 kmpl of fuel economy in their test.

TopGear doesn’t seem to have performed their own fuel economy test. In their review, they report a claimed mileage of 84 kmpl, although I am not sure about the source of this figure.

BikeDekho in their review claim that the 100T is the “best looking” bike in the 100cc category with “applauding shape and alignment of ergonomics”. While it is unclear if the reviewer actually tested the bike for mileage, he notes that the average FE on the bike should be around 70 kmpl which is on par with the rest of the reviews we have seen till now.

That is what we have got for now. AutoCarIndia is yet to come up with their review at the time of writing. MouthShut still doesn’t have any reviews from customers. We will wait for these reports and update this article as and when it is done. If you happen to read this article in a couple of months from now, do comment if I have not updated the article by then. Here is a snapshot of the economies as claimed by various reviewers.

    1. just contact your nearest Bajaj showroom, rather than asking questions……….its better for to save your time, i think you may understud my answer,,,bye but buy a better bike. ALL THE BEST

      1. The look of this bike is good. but whereas in case of mileage I’m not satisfied it gives exactly 55kmpl. Showroom members are saying that after one service it will get good mileage. but i recently completed first service also. Although it gives same mileage… And one more thing we have to use very smoothly this bike. otherwise engine will getting some kind of sound.

  2. I Love this bike for its both milage and power. I dam sure that no 125 cc motor cycle except stunner or shine will beat it. Realy its a great Discover from Bajaj. Thanx to Bajaj.

    1. the price of this bike is different in different areas due to the local tax, so please contact your nearest Bajaj show room to know the price in your area.i think 100t bike price in Delhi is about 50,500(ex-show)Rs/-. So may cost around 50,500-53,500.This is good looking in style and it receives better feedback about this bike.Bifor going to buy this bike you must consult your nearest Bajaj showroom and don’t trust local people feedback…….k, bye ALL THE BEST.

  12. Discover 100t ke samne koi maika 100 aur 125 laal paida nehin hua hai jo use takkar dede.

Me dekhta hu log engine ke bare me bahut kuch kehte hai. Ye engine aisa hai , wo engine waisa hai…

Acha jara bata sakte hai ki kaunsi company unke papa ke hai. Engine ka E bhi Malum nahin chale aate hai Discribe karne keliye.

Are bhai humne bhi pichle 12 saalo se sab companiyo ki gadi ki engine ko ragda hai. and I have now a pulsar, a discover 100t,Unicorn and also aPassion pro.

So Pls, Bhasan jhadna band karo aur reality me aao. No doubt dream yuga and x pro both are very comfortable and reliable bikes. But performence me discover 100t ke saamne kabhi bhi nehi a payenge.

Jo sab sach baat tha maine yahan par aapko Bataya . Ab aapki marzi…

        1. Hello,

Actually i missed your reply here and Thanks For offer..

I have purchased the bike and i got around 70km average in first 20 days.

I have 1 question for you, are you using any special engine oil or you are using same which Bajaj is offering (Bajaj DTS-i 10,000-SAE 20W40).

          are you satisfied with that?

          Thanks,

  13. Hai guys,
    My self RAJ.25
I have ride so many bikes in my 12 years biking career.

such as cd 100 ss as my 1st,Then cd dawn, cd deluxe, cd 100 sleek, splendour range, passion range, hunk, cbz range, karizma range, boxer range, calliber range, platina range, aspire, wind, discover range, eliminator, avanger, pulsar range,max100,samurai,ind suzuki ax 100, jive, phoenix, star range, apache range, lml or kinetic all bikes, yamaha crux range ,ybr old n new, ybx, gladiator, anticer, szx, szr,rx 100,135,rxz,rxg,rd 350,Fz range,R15 v1.0,2.0 ,yamha v max, mt 01,gsx r,hayabusa1349, vfr,cbr fire blade n black bird n many more.

y mention that if u wanna coment should think be4.

actually no company of our dads.y people says wid a countrylad manners.

    example:-
    1-splendor is d no 1 bike in d world
(chasma utar, duniya dekh, duniya bahut badi hai mere bhai)

2-Rx 100 ko koi takkar nehi de sakta.
(kaise koi 100 cc dega bhai,11.5 bhp ka muqabla 7bhp se keise hoga.kabhi fz,r15,pulsar,cbr,cbz,hunk ke age aao to pata chalega.waise due to light weight n lower rpm its very easy to ride inside market )
3-cd 100 ss ka comfort or majbuti kisime nahi
(wo log sayad ss se kabhi utre hi nahin,or ek baat, agar bulet or r15 ya pulsar 200 ns ke sath kabhi accident ho jaye to body ka pata nahin par chachies bulet ka jarur band ho jayega,to ss kya chij he bhai)

4-honda engine or tech bakion se behetar hai, maintainence kam he,bajaj engine ka sound nikal ata hai
(by d way maintainence chalane ke upar he,hamne to itne honda engine ko suna hai ke chodo,or honda ka car engine ka baat kisi car wale ko hi pucho to bataega, rahi baat bajaj ki world ka sabse fastest n technichal bike tomhawk or baki bahut international company ka bike engeine bajaj pulsar ke engine par based hai jo duniya ka pehele 4 valve or triple spark tech hai.

so aise hi coment mat diya karo.
mera abhi 1 pulsar 150 or cbr 250 he.par jab compare ki baat he to humne apni bhaya ki disco100t chalaya or ye bahut achi gadi he.100 cc ke muqable ye koi bhi 125 yahan tak ki accelaration as compared to a 150 sagment ,bahut acha hai.top ends to koi bhi high cc deta hai par milage ke sath power ka perfect combo hai 100 t.
    ok.any quistion plese ask,will ans u soon.bye wid lov.RAJ

    1. i am confused to buy a splendor or discover 100t. can you help me. also give me a mileage of both bikes (in city )

  14. Hi,

I want to purchase a discover bike, But i am confused between Discover 100T and discover 125 ST,As some one is saying me that there is not very much differences between both two bikes. Average is also much more identical.

Could you please suggest me the best bike between these two and also please provide me the region.

    Thanks,

    1. Go For 100t as because almost the power is same as compared to 125 st and also 100t is bit longer than 125 st. The most important thing is milage. It gives 80+ on highway and 70+ in city condition. So go for it.

      Manabhanjan, Berhampur (Odisha)

  15. I want to buy a bike in range 55000-60000 .
please suggest a good bike in good mileage..quality and less maintanance.

    i m confuse between

    discover 100T…100cc….pletina
    hero splender +…pro…..HF delux
    honda dream yuga…neo…shine…twister.

    please give a good suggestion…

    contact no. 9662324953

  16. We dream a bike of 150cc engine with body weight of 100 to 120 kgs. The bike of officials should be run smoothly up to 75 kmph without engine roaring and gives better mileage of around 60 to 65 kmpl.

  17. Hi Bikers or Riders,
I would like to buy a NewBike.
My choice are Bajaj Discover 100T, Honda CB-Twister, Hero Passion X-Pro
My choice tells you a under 110 cc bike with enough power and decent looks.
I have taken one each from top bike producers considering design & looks.
So I ignored DreamYuga, PassionPro, Splendor, Old Discover etc.
Need best suggestion of the above three.

I usually drive 15 km a day. 50-60 km on weekend days.
    I usually ride bikes @ 40-60 kmph.
I want to use the bike for at least 5Years.

    My preferences:
1: Mileage should give around 70kmpl.
2: Engine Quality and Reliability in terms of years
3: Comfort while Driving with pillion(consider sarry ladies also).
    4: Ride Handling and braking.

    Passion X-Pro
Need Comments on Hero new 5 Year Warranty policy.
What they cover and what not.
    CB-Twister
Need comments on Comfort on riding with pillion
    Handling and performance
    Discover100T
As i am mostly preferring to take Bajaj Discover 100T.

Because lot of people say Bajaj Bikes are not so good after a few years.
So need comments on BAJAJ Reliability and sustainability.
Is there any ways to get good life from Bajaj too. Please mention if you have done.

And Eagerly Waiting to see ownership experiences of all above.

  18. i purchased 100t on 1 april 2013 at khivraj motors, chennai so far the milege is only 43 kmpl in city condition and 50 kmpl in highway i drove the vehicle around 1400km so far. i took the vehicle to khivraj service station for 3 times for improve the milegage but no result, i very disappointed with this vehicle

I hv cumpleted 500 km from my 100t nd getting mileage of 70kmpl…hope it will further increase aftr 1st service…
I wud recommend to go for bajaj…

    1. I have also purchased same bike before couple of days.

1 issue i noticed that Engine gets heat if you run your bike continuously for 8-10 KMs.

are you facing any such issue?
      Please provide guidance.

      Thanks,
      Hemang

        1. @kriishna,

Thanks for your reply. Actually i was little bit worried.

I was bit concerned with that as i had just took my bike around only 7-8 Kms and i found that bike got heat which was more than normal case.

I have also visited Bajaj Service Center. They also informed same that bike is new so it will get heat.

This will be resolved after 1 service.

Hope that this issue will be resolved in near time…

          Thank you so much…

  22. Look best
    comfort good
    Power Satisfactory
    Mileage: 60-65 normal, longways: 65-70
    Best color : Blue Black

  23. bike is undoubtedly most powerful and faster in 100-110cc segment.it’s mid and high range performance is surely better any other bikes, but low end performance is not to great because best torque at high revolution 6500rpm.

  24. Dear All,
I want to buy Bajaj Discover 100T. i am little confused because i hear mixed responses to this bike. Some say good bike and others say it’s a bad bike. It has a gear shifting problem and mileage problem. i would like to ask from genuine riders of this bike. Please suggest if I should buy this bike.

  25. Hi friends. I am very much interested in buying Bajaj Discover 100t bike. There is mixed responses of both positive and negatives about this bike. So, please give the best suggestion about the bike.

  26. Bajaj Discover 100T highway mileage is 115 kmpl but at bike speed 40-50 on local roads, it is 70 kmpl max mileage

    1. Dear ,

you drive discover 100t ?. is it really good bike. how many month before you purchase this bike. please tell me the truth. i want buy it.

  27. actually i want to buy a bike for me but i am little confused between 100t and 125st
my daily drive is 40km-45km and i drive at the speed of 40-45kmph
i want good average along with good performance
please help me and suggest me the best

  28. hello friends

I have CBZ and it is giving mileage of 47-50kmpl at 65-75kmph speed on highway.
My daily drive is 125 km.
Now due to hike in price of petrol I want a more fuel efficient bike.

Can anyone tell me exact mileage of 100T at 65-75 kmph speed on highway.

    Thanks

  29. I have read most of the views of the riders on various different websites. One common & major complaint is about the mileage. I would like a add a brief word that the mileage depends a lot on your riding habits. You cannot have a good mileage, when you ride roughly. Mileages are tested in standard conditions. I would suggest to try & count the mileage on highway.. One has to make sure that while doing this, engine should have a high RPM, Airfilter should be clean, chain well lubricated, spark plugs clean & gap properly adjusted & check other basics, then only you will get a good mileage. Thanks

  30. totally agree with you. Even I’m having 100T and getting 65 kmpl mileage in mixed condition. So no issue with mileage if you know to drive softly..!!

  31. I have purchased 100 T last month & it is very cool bike. It gives mileage near about 70 kmpl in city & 80 kmpl on highways. It has much power than other 100 cc bikes. It is so soft in 5th gear. It’s a great bike.Go for it !

  32. Hi friends,
I wanted to buy a new bike but i am confused with the mixed comments on this and other sites too….
Please can a genuine 100t user give me the review of this bike.
I drive at 30-40kmph and i am driving shine from 4 years and i think i drive smooth in city too.
    Thanks.

  33. want to purchase bajaj discover 100T bike within 2 months.pls tell me whether this bike’s life is more than 5 yrs or not and how is the mileage in city and on highway

  34. I HAVE BEEN USING DISCOVER 100T FOR THE PAST 7 DAYS. I CAN DESCRIBE ITS LOOK LIKE A ” CBZ ” . IT’S A REALLY BIG AND COMFORTABLE BIKE. STILL I HAVE NOT TESTED ITS MILEAGE BUT IT COULD BE 70-80 KMPL IN MIXED CONDITION, CITY ROAD ( 2 KM) IS LESS THAN HIGHWAY ROAD IN MY AREA. I AM FULLY SATISFIED WITH THIS BIKE AND I WILL COME BACK WITH ACCURATE MILEAGE

  35. I Guys, I purchased this bike and have been using it for one month. My opinion is to not go for this bike if your looking for mileage. Old Discover bikes will serve you good on that point. The engine is not balanced or refined properly, it gets overheated pretty fast and you cannot feel the smoothness except at speed between 40 to 50 km/h. The company mileage and top speed are bogus and you cannot attain good speed without compromising on mileage. For me it’s giving 70 kmpl and top speed of 60km/h. The advantage of this bike is only the good looks and slightly higher pickup than other 100cc’s. If you are looking for a stable engine go for old Discover or Honda bikes.

  36. I purchased this bike on Dhanteras 1st November. I got a mileage of 40-45 kmpl in city and 50-55 kmpl on highways. Can I get more mileage after 1st service? Please reply.

    1. I guess your bike is tuned for more speed but it will surely increase after first servicing. Try idling but after a few months

  37. i would prefer you to go for Honda bikes for consistency in mileage and power and durability. If you want to go for mileage only, then go for Platina (80 km/l). Do not go for this twin spark engines as it doesn’t give consistent mileage.

  38. Hi guys,
I currently am looking for a 100-110 cc bike with an average power and better(or say best) in terms of mileage. The bike is actually for my father. We own a honda activa(2009 model) but the mileage is very pathetic(40-45). So father told me to search for a good mileage bike.Power is also very much essential as my father is having a big stomach and is around 87 kg .we are planning to buy this now as next year i will be turning 18 and we could both ride it.We are very much pleased by its looks and specs.BUT ONE QUESTION REMAINS-WILL IT PERFORM WELL AS YEARS PASS BY????
    Please reply to this

  39. I bought this bike six months back. My city mileage is 92 kmpl but on highways, I only get 75 kmpl. I ride my bike more on highways. Please tell me how to increase the mileage here.
